Clients are requested to consider these.
Basel’s markets offer a unique shopping experience at the heart of the city all year long. Scores of stalls with delicacies and entertaining events make the markets a great place to linger. The numerous city and neighbourhood markets in the market town of Basel offer a wide and diverse range of market experiences.
A special shopping experience
At Basel’s fresh goods markets, customers are in direct contact with the market traders, many of whom produce their own goods. The products sold on Basel’s fresh good markets are healthy, organic and sustainable and largely produced in the surrounding tri-national region of Basel.

Adjustments due to the Corona Pandemic
In all weekly and district markets, corresponding safety precautions in connection with COVID-19 will be in place. Visitors will be informed on site about the security measures prescribed by the FOPH: A distance of 1,5 metres must be maintained from other persons; only one customer per vendor may be present at the market stall and self-service is not possible at the market stalls.
In addition, the number of visitors to the individual market places is limited to one person per four square metres. Disinfectants are available for customers at the markets.
The Department of Presidential Affairs thanks the market participants for their support in implementing these measures.
