A location, that helps companies succeed

A location, that helps companies succeed

In 2025, rent relief for startups and the funding instruments of the Basel Incentive Programme were among the most sought-after support measures. In addition, companies particularly value the direct, personal support provided by the Corporate Relations and Support team. Individual advisory services, targeted introductions, and assistance with networking all make an important contribution to strengthening companies based in the canton. Overall, the business location of Basel-Stadt benefits from stable and reliable framework as well as an accessible, solution-oriented administration. Companies consistently view these factors as a clear competitive advantage.

Our focus:

Listening

The team maintains a regular dialogue with strategic key companies in the Canton of Basel‑Stadt. In 2025, more than 100 companies were visited. Key companies are defined as firms that play a significant role for Basel‑Stadt due to their economic importance, innovative strength and strategic relevance. This includes, in particular, companies from the life sciences, the sustainable economy and digitalisation sectors.

Through the Business Contact Point, offered as an open and low‑threshold service, nearly 100 individual consultations were conducted.

At numerous industry events, conferences and innovation forums, active exchange is maintained with stakeholders across all key sectors.

Strengthening and Supporting

The team also acts as central interface between the private sector and the public administration. Companies gain rapid access to the right contacts and benefit from short decision paths.

By advising companies on suitable funding opportunities and supporting them in selecting the right instruments, businesses can apply efficiently and in a targeted manner.

In cantonal site and area development, the team actively represents the needs of the private sector, ensuring that their requirements are considered early in the planning process.
